Style It: Hot Pink Hair Extensions

Avril LavigneDid you ever wonder how so many people get those chunky ‘highlights’ in vibrantly colored hues of pink, blue or purple? Do they dye their hair? Hmmm… some do for sure, but I’ll bet that most are using hair extensions. If you haven’t seen any gum ball inspired extensions in your local beauty supply store, don’t worry, just buy the lightest blonde you can find and dye them yourself. Yep, this video helps us channel our inner Macgyver to create the hottest trend around for a tiny bit of cash with a few quick tips. Sometimes all it takes is a glue gun and some inspiration! Thanks Monroemisfitmakeup for showing us the way, you’re an absolute rockstar!

Just make sure when you buy the lightest blonde that they are 100% human hair. Synthetic extensions won’t dye. The goo thing though if you buy the extensions pre-dyed is that the colour will stay colour true for the life of the extension and the colour won’t run onto your own hair – important if you have blonde hair!

Just remember the human hair is treated so the dye will not come out as dark as if you bleach your hair and dye it. ex. I just dyed some white glue in extensions using atomic pink by special effects. They came out a very lavender like pink. On my own bleached head it is a vibrant hot pink.
