Keratin Treatments Good or Bad?

Is Keratin Treatments Good or Bad for your Hair?  The Today Show did an expose on keratin treatments.  The Bottom Line?  Keratin treatments do wonders on the texture of your hair!  It allows women to wash and go without the ironing, products, blow drying and so much more.  The truth is Formaldehyde is in so many products including nail polish and so much more.  The Formaldehyde is activated when heated by the flat iron.  It is the gas that is created that is a major concern not the actual liquid treatment.  When performing the Keratin treatment the liquid is heated when flat ironing.  The bottom line is to assure that the salon where you are getting the treatment is properly ventilated.  If the salon is properly ventilated you should feel comfortable and safe.  Keratin Treatments like Coppola Keratin Complex, Global Keratin, and BioNaza are perfectly safe if applied by a trained stylist with proper ventilation.

I have the BKT express, and I have experienced, shortness of breath, phlegm, in my throat, and overall in my respiratory system discomfort. I was told by the stylist the product is the conditioning treatment only, which is all natural. After doing my research, after the fact, I discovered bkt has formalin, which, once heated becomes Formaldehyde. I studied and read, even with low dosages of Formaldehyde there is still a potential for cancer in the long run. I have had the shortened version of the product and will never have it applied again, the health risks are too great! DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH…not sure but stylist can mislead you for a price….

keratin is a natural oil that is found in our nails and hair, the older we get the more keratin we loose, thats why our hair falls out and breaks at the ends which will both cause dry frizzy hair. keratin product have thay same chemical our hair carried when we were babies and when applied correctly and after several treatments your hair will grow thicker, faster, longer and simply look a million times better than if you normally have kinky curky/wavy hair, I’m not a hair stylest but a girl with curly frizzy hair that has been able to turn bad hair days into Victoria Secret Model hair days. I’ve been using keratin at a professional hair salon who has stylest that have been properly trained to apply the keratin treatment.

I have found a company called simply smooth keratin from researching the topic, that comes in under the recommended safe levels of adlehydes.I have used their products for 3 years now and never had a problem. I have naturally curly hair, have had relaxers, straighteners, This product gives me silky smooth hair, that flows and moves. So I truly believe there are good keratin products out there as well as bad.

For me this is a no “brainer”…uhhh, keratin treatments and risk getting cancer over time OR flat ironing and risk split ends…let me think…hmmm,…I’ll go with the flat ironing for $1,000 Alex, thank you…LOL!
