Are you looking for fringe bangs but your hair is just too thin?  Bold fringe is a strong statement that falls flat when it’s not thick and dense enough, like on fine hair. Sam Villa, top Redken stylist says the trick to making fine hair seem thicker is haircolor.

“When you want to make fringe look thicker, you take a slice of hair under the fringe and color it two shades darker than the natural haircolor or the color of the rest of the head.  When you bring the top fringe layers down over it, the fringe looks thicker because there is a shadow of color underneath that creates density and richness,” says Villa.

Villa suggests using a demi-permanent haircolor such as Redken Shades EQ Conditioning Color Gloss for maximum refection.  The technique can also be done around the entire perimeter of a cut to add more thickness.  Touchups are on an as needed basis.
