The Chignon Weekend Wear

Big plans for the weekend? An easy and chic way to get spruced up for a night out on the town is tying your hair back into a simple updo. Yes I said simple! Updos do not need to be complicated and time consuming, try a soft braided chignon with these tips from Edward Tricomi, celebrity hairstylist and co-owner of Warren-Tricomi salons. The look is perfect for balmy Summer nights!  “Nothing looks chicer than a classic chignon. It is timeless and elegant. By braiding the hair before wrapping into the chignon, you get a youthful, modern twist.” – Edward Tricomi, celebrity stylist and co-owner of Warren-Tricomi salons

If you want to avoid frizz on your night out, this style is ideal. When you get out of the shower, create a deep side part and then slick hair back into a low ponytail with leave in conditioner. This is key – especially in humid climates as the conditioner will weigh hair down and keep it hydrated so moisture does not seep into the hair causing it to frizz. For extra control, add a dollop of hair gel. Take the ponytail, do a simple braid and then twist into a chignon. Secure with an elastic. Smooth the style out with finishing cream and then a light layer of hair spray for extra hold.
